About EZWebPlayer
EZWebPlayer has been hosting videos since 2009. We launched it as a straightforward alternative to the platforms that were either shoving ads into customer videos, trapping people in trials that auto-charged, or pricing small operators out of features like custom-domain embeds.
Sixteen years later, we are still running it the same way.
Independent
We have never been acquired. We have no venture capital, no outside investors, no board pressuring us to chase growth we do not need. We are profitable at the size we are and we do not have plans to sell. You will not log in one morning to find that we were bought by a larger platform, sunset the product, and sent you a 90-day migration notice.
Small team, on purpose
A handful of people run EZWebPlayer. We write the code, we host the servers, we answer support email. There is no sales department because we do not do outbound sales. There is no marketing department because the product sells itself or it does not. Keeping the team small is how we keep the prices low and the product opinionated.
What we believe
- Your content is yours. We will never inject ads into your videos.
- No upgrade nags. If a feature is not on your plan, you just do not see it. No locked overlays, no "upgrade now" popups inside the product.
- No trial traps. The free tier is free forever. Paid tiers are opt-in. We will not auto-charge a card that you handed us for a trial.
- No tracking in the player. We do not put pixels in embeds. Your viewers are not a data source for us.
- No overage bills. If you hit a limit, uploads or streams stop. You will not get a surprise invoice.
The 2026 rebuild
In late 2025 we started rewriting the platform from the ground up on .NET 10 and Postgres. It was time. Some of the original code was WCF, some of it was Web Forms, some of it predated jQuery being a default. We wanted a clean foundation to run on for the next decade. We shipped the new version in 2026 without changing pricing or taking the product in a new direction. Faster, cleaner, same promise.
